hi, first here is some hardware details :

CPU : Intel Core I7 3770

RAM : 32gb ram

OS : ESXI 5.1 - 799733 x86_64

HDD : 2x 3Tb 7200t SATA

4Vms Windows 2012

4 Vms Ubuntu 12.10

1 Pfsense 2.1 (freebsd)

Since 3 days i'm facing a strange issue... i will try to give you as much details as i can

The issue is related to lost of datastore and sata interface randomly. It has happened on one disk or the others and i need to restart the server to see the disk coming back;

I can find significant information from kernel log, i just see some error from esxi host telling me that disk latenty is growing but it seems to happen anytime, and the hosts has been fully stable since a week before ...

As for now, it seems that it only happen when vmsphere is running... but can't be sure that it will not happen without vsphere connection

The problem is quite deep, when it happen on disk 1 which contains esxi too, if i restart the server, the bios boot disk order change.

It look like the disk had become disconnected and then reconnected ...

VMS vscsi used LSI parallel for ubuntu and LSI SAS for windows server, could it be the issue ?

for now, i have not lost any data. I'm feeling that it could be hardware related but i can't be sure about that

Maybe some tweaks need to be done on esxi to have a good behavior with internal sata disk, so i'm listening on any advice
