Lots of words for a simple problem, but I'm just trying to get all the information out there to help get a solution faster.
I downloaded VMware vCenter Converter Standalone Client and used it to convert my current PC into a VM. The VM file is 44 gigs, the drive that it came from is 54 gigs. It boots just fine, albeit slow, when I run it on VMware Workstation, however it automatically allocated 3.3 gigs of memory and 2 processors to the VM.
My physical machine only has 4 gigs of memory and 2 processors, so I go into the VM's tab, and click on "Edit virtual machine settings" in order to allocate the VM something like 1.5 gigs of memory and the use of only one processor. The "Virtual Machine Settings" window opens, and as soon as I attempt to do anything in this window: change the setting for the memory, clock around different options, close it, minimize it, the "Virtual Machine Settings" window freezes and Task Manager shows VMware Workstation as not responding.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled both VMware vCenter Converter Standalone Client and VMware Workstation. I have deleted and remade the vm of my physical disk multiple times, and I always get the same result.
What can I do to stop having this issue?
