Cannot connect to Internet using NAT on Linux guest in VMPlayer

Hi,

I have a machine with vmware workstation 9.0.1 with a linux guest O/S and this works fine for connecting to the internet using NAT.

I am looking at VMPlayer also and the same linux build gives a host unreachable when I try to connect to the internet.

I have put the machines side by side and tried to mirro settings but still does not work. Is there any known issue with NAT on VMPlayer as there is no briged mode option?
