We're soon going to be upgrading our vSphere 4.1 environment to 5.1, and I have one problem that I'm looking to get resolved in my test environment before going forward.
Our environment is Windows based, with Active Directory. In it, we have a single forest with a root, and 3 child domains (ie. MyDomain.local, MyCity.MyDomain.local, OtherCity.MyDomain.local, etc.)
In some cases, our Windows UPNs have been left to the child domain name. However, in other cases, they've been changed to be our public email address (ie. Evan@mycompany.com).
This includes some of our windows accounts.
Working with SSO, I've found that my admin account can log in using Evan@MyCity.MyDomain.local format. However, ideally we'd want everyone who's logging in to use their UPN, no matter what their true domain is, and no matter what the UPN suffix currently selected for that user is.
I hope that's a clear enough explanation. Can anyone help?
